Dr Wendy Sweet (PhD) – My Menopause Transformation™ (MyMT)
For over 40 years Dr Wendy Sweet has been involved in New Zealand’s health and exercise industry. Although Dr Sweet’s original career was as an ICU Nurse, she re-trained and helped to pioneer the Personal Training industry in New Zealand.
Dr Sweet then went on to become a Lecturer in the Health, Sports and Human Performance Department at the University of Waikato. It was during this time that Dr Sweet became so curious about how women perceived their ageing and the role of exercise during their menopause transition that she decided to undertake a PhD in this area, and is so pleased that she did! Because what Dr Sweet discovered was that now that we are in a different hormonal environment, what we have done in the past to manage our health, energy and weight, simply may not work anymore. Not many health coaches and other professionals understand this, because there has been very little research on the menopause transition and lifestyle changes that can help women adapt to their new hormonal environment.
Desperate to turn around her own health, weight and symptoms in a natural way, Dr Sweet set out to untangle the menopause-mayhem jigsaw. After decades of research, everything she discovered is now in fabulous programmes for women and CPD courses for Health Professionals.
